Despacito is a song from 2017 that was released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the single that became the most streamed and downloaded song worldwide within just 6 months. It was a blend of reggaeton and pop music which not only brought attention to Latin music but as well reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 featured two songs that were Spanish generally, and four tracks in 2016. In 2017, during the peak of the popularity of Despacito the track was one of 19 that mainly Spanish were included in the Top 100. The year 2020 will see it will have 41 tracks in this category. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with an English version in the year 2017. In the year following, popular artists began working with reggaeton acts. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018), while Madonna was a part of Medellin together with Maluma (2019). From the beginning of 2020, some reggaeton musicians felt dissatisfied with the direction it was moving towards the popular. Rauw Alajandro is a part of a new generation that aims to change the course. The genre often included elements of electronic dance music as well as other styles.
