Kat Dennings is a Pennsylvanian born in Bryn Mawr on 13 June 1986. She was named Katherine Victoria Litwack. Ellen was the mother of Ellen. She was both an ophthalmologist and a poet. Gerald, her father was a professor, as well as molecular pharmacist. Dennings grew up as the youngest child in an orthodox Jewish home. Dennings was a student at a school which was not traditional and she only briefly went to a homeschool. Because she was trying to get into acting at an early age so the arrangement of homeschooling made the most sense since she could complete high school by the age of fourteen. She had already begun doing commercials when she was at the age of 9. When she graduated from high school, she moved with her family into Los Angeles in order to take on acting. Kat Dennings was her name at the time she started to audition. Kat Dennings' acting debut came after moving to LA was when she appeared on HBO's "Sex and the City" in the year 2000.
